I won’t go into my suspicions why Microsoft and its OS platform so heavily controls corporate IT groups. However, because we use protocols and procedures that are different from your typical cookie cutter IT group, we are often adversaries to that same IT group. To handle the load of information about our facilities and the people that care for them requires a lot of data and good networks to gather and administrate that data. I work in the facilities engineering department. I do IT level work because of my area of expertise. I don’t completely know how they do it, but I have my suspicions. I work in the healthcare environment and have for many years yet, I also know this is true in many other industries.
